I always get inspired by movies/books but I never follow through those inspirations. Of course, I would love to drop everything and travel the world like Julia Roberts does in the movie... however, being a broke, mostly unemployed, student again kind of rules out that option. One thing that they focus on in the movie is meditation. I've always heard about meditation and learned about it as a practice of other religions, but I never really connected with it. It was always something foreign and scary to me. Unnerving. I always felt like it was something that I couldn't do as a Christian because people from other religions did it. That is some way it would pull me away from God. Now, I realize that it isn't just a Buddhist or Hindu practice... anyone can do it. And in reality, it's a way to get closer to God. To listen to and focus on Him. I was even encouraged to meditate by my boyfriend, so that I could release some stress. At the time, I thought that was an impossible feat. But... I think I might just give it a go ... as a way to connect to myself and to God. It's going to be REALLY hard because my brain is on wide open, 24/7... but hopefully this will help with that.
Brittany's EPL inspired meditation begins now... Wish me luck!
