My first adventure was a 'blueberry crisp' via cooking light magazine. It's delicious & super easy to make... & surprisingly not too bad for you. { Until you add the ice cream! :) }
My second task was eggplant! This one was interesting. I decided to grill it & it actually turned out really well. Just brush on some EVOO {olive oil} mixed with whatever seasonings you like. I used garlic powder, onion powder & cajun seasoning. Grill the eggplant until they are tender. My family likes things a little scorched, so we let ours cook a little closer to the fire.
My next task involves sewing. I had seen some thing on the style network about making a skirt out of a pillow case & it sounded doable. I found the instructions online & VOILA... A cute Auburn gameday skirt :) War Eagle!
I made a few alterations to the instructions. First, I took in the pillowcase about an inch. One thing you have to remember about taking it in is that pillowcases don't have any give. That means, make sure you can sit in it before you take it up. Another thing I did was finish off the edges with my sewing machine to make it a little more polished. The last thing I did was add another loop in the back because the skirt tends to slide out from under the belt easily.
