It's Monday. Enough said, right? Haha. So starts another week... after a wonderful, yet very short weekend. My parents graciously bought me a ticket to go see a Beatles Tribute band, called "The Fab Four," with them over the weekend. The show was wonderful! If I didn't know that some of the Beatles were no longer with us, I would have thought that they were the original band. If you ever get the chance to see them, I would highly recommend it. The show even comes with your very own host/comedian/impersonator of Ed Sullivan (who I thought looked more like Richard Nixon haha). It was fun to see people in their element, having the time of their lives. Watching people light up like they are 16 years old again is so fun!
At one point during the show, the John Lennon character came on stage to sing "Imagine," which is one of my all time favorite songs. It was amazing to listen to everyone singing along, believing in the words to the beautiful song. Before the musician began the song, he spoke about how inspiring John Lennon was to not only him, but the world. He also mentioned how sad it was that a man that was so persistent about a peaceful world could be so brutally murdered. It is very sad that in our world, people turn to violence as a form of fixing problems that, in most cases, only exist in their heads.
Okay, onto a much brighter subject, that is actually a peace treaty of sorts... the OLYMPICS! Yep, I'm obsessed, especially with the summer games. It seems like everything in the summer Olympics is interesting... with the exception of like boxing and shooting guns, but I'll overlook that for the fun stuff! Of course, my 2 absolute FAVS are gymnastics and swimming/diving. The Olympics have been going for 3 days now & I have already managed to pick out my crushes for these games. One is a German, male gymnast that looks like he fell out of the pages of a fairy tale. The other is our good nations own, Ryan Lochte! Of course! What a cutie! & if he keeps beating Mr. Bad Boy of swimming, Michael Phelps (my crush from the last summer games), I'll be happy. Ha.
Is it just me or is it hard to watch those athletes try so hard and then mess up or hurt themselves. That poor German gymnast that kept landing on his ankle or the American gymnast (reigning world champ) that didn't get into the all around finals. :( Breaks my heart every time! So far, I think I cried the most when the 2 female, American divers won the silver medal the other night! They were so precious!
So, anyway, I'm going to be glued to the TV and not getting much sleep through the life of these games. But they only come around every 4 LONG years, so we have to enjoy them while we can. GO Team USA! :)
